INTENSIVE ONLINE WORKSHOP
COLLABORATIVE LEARNING USING IKT

The workshop focuses on collaborative learning and computer-based collaborative learning supported by online learning environments such as GoConqr, Edmodo, Nearpod, Mahara, Moodle, Google Classroom, Trello and Padlet. We learn how the tools presented enrich collaborative learning and also enable project-based learning and problem-based learning.

The workshop is designed to introduce collaborative learning in an ICT-supported pedagogical process. In addition to an introductory and a concluding part, the workshop consists of 4 chapters:

Collaborative Learning
In this topic you will learn some basic concepts related to collaborative learning. You will learn about the different definitions of collaborative learning, the comparison between traditional and collaborative learning groups, the role of the teacher in collaborative learning, ways of assessing collaborative learning, and the difficulties and challenges cited by many researchers in the field. At the end of the chapter, you can check your understanding with a knowledge assessment instrument.

Computer Supported Cooperative Learning
In this topic, you will learn some basic concepts related to computer-supported collaborative learning. We will present some selected examples of computer-supported collaborative learning and additional links to the field of collaborative learning using ICT. At the end of the chapter you will have the opportunity to test your own understanding of the basic concepts of computer-supported collaborative learning.

Project-based learning
In this topic you will learn about the approach of project-based learning work, how to evaluate it and how to support it with ICT. You will be presented with different examples of designing project-based learning work supported by collaborative learning environments. You can also try your hand at planning ICT-enhanced project-based learning.

Problem-based learning
In this topic, you will learn about the problem-based learning approach, how to evaluate it and how to support it with ICT. We also give you different examples of planning problem-based learning supported by different collaborative learning environments. Finally, you will have the opportunity to try your hand at planning a problem-based learning lesson using ICT.
