ASSESSING KNOWLEDGE IN THE MOODLE ONLINE CLASSROOM
This workshop will introduce you to the different ways of assessing knowledge supported by the Moodle online classroom. You will learn about the possibilities of assessing knowledge using quiz, assignment, options, response, lesson and peer assessment using the workshop activity. You will also learn about knowledge assessment in the online classroom with the interactive materials created with H5P and the lesson activity. You will learn about the Treasure Hunt, Game and Quizventure plug-ins for assessing knowledge with games and see how you can award a badge to students on successful completion of an online classroom activity.

This workshop is designed to introduce you to the different ways of assessing knowledge in the Moodle online classroom. In addition to an introductory and a concluding part, it consists of 3 sections:
- Valuing knowledge through different activities
In this topic you will learn about activities in Moodle that you can use in your work to support the assessment of student learning. Through the guides you will learn about the activities workshop, quiz, assignment, option and response.
To complete the section successfully, you will take a quiz and submit an assignment in which you will try your hand at creating an assessment tool using the different activities in the Moodle online classroom. As a recommended activity, you are welcome to participate in the forum, where you are invited to share your experiences of assessment in the Moodle online classroom.
- Knowledge assessment with interactive materials
In this topic you will learn about the activities in Moodle that you can use to create interactive materials to assess student learning. Through the guides you will learn about the H5P activities and the lesson.
In the final part of the section, you will submit an assignment to try your hand at creating an assessment tool with interactive materials in the Moodle online classroom. Participation in a forum on the topic of assessing knowledge with interactive materials is recommended.
- Evaluating knowledge with games
In this topic you will learn about activities in the Moodle online classroom that support gamification and at the same time enable knowledge assessment. Through the guides you will learn about the Treasure Hunt, Games, Quizventure and Badges plug-ins.
In the final part of the section, you will complete a compulsory crossword puzzle to check your understanding of the content presented, and submit an assignment to try your hand at creating a knowledge assessment tool with games in the Moodle online classroom. Participation in a forum where you can share your ideas and experiences of assessing knowledge with games is recommended.
Objectives of the online workshop:
- To use the online classroom to support the learning process;
to know the possibilities that the use of ICT (Moodle) brings to the study process; - online classrooms as an opportunity to support and enrich the study process and student-centred teaching and learning;
- planning a strategy and implementing online classrooms in your own teaching work.
Conditions for the recognition of the online workshop:
- You are kindly invited to participate in the various activities (discussion, etc.) within each session during the workshop period, which are recommended and not compulsory.
- It is mandatory to participate in at least one open discussion during the announced workshop period.
- It is compulsory to complete 2 quizzes during the workshop period and 1 crossword at the end of each session.
- 3 assignments must be submitted at the end of each session during the workshop period.
- The final activity must be successfully completed within the time limit of the workshop.
- At the end of the workshop, it is compulsory to complete a survey in order to obtain feedback from the participants as a basis for optimising future versions of the online workshop.
After successfully completing all activities, participants will receive a certificate in the online classroom and, a few days after the end of the course, a certificate of completion of the pedagogical training by post (to the faculty).
